Eden Garden Located: Summary
Possible Location of the Garden of Eden
Possible Location of the Garden of Eden
There's 3 main possible locations for the garden of Eden, somewhere in the Middle East: Jerusalem, Eastern Turkey/Armenia or South Mesopotamia. From those 3, I think the most probable is Eastern Turkey/Armenia, because the Bible says that the garden of Eden was the source of 4 rivers, among them the Tigris and Euphrates, whose source is presently the mountains of Eastern Turkey/Armenia...
From Gen 2:10-14, we can read:
"10 A river flowed from Eden to water the garden, and from there it divided to make four streams.
11 The first is named the Pishon, and this winds all through the land of Havilah where there is gold.
12 The gold of this country is pure; bdellium and cornelian stone are found there.
13 The second river is named the Gihon, and this winds all through the land of Cush.
14 The third river is named the Tigris, and this flows to the east of Ashur. The fourth river is the Euphrates."
To have an idea of the rivers of the region, please see the picture from the link Turkey River Map. We must take also into account, that, through volcanoes, the trajectories of the rivers Gihon and Pishon should have changed: no river starts in the mountains of Armenia/Eastern Turkey which goes to the lands of Cush (Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan) anymore... and maybe the land of Havilah is located East to Mesopotamia: Persia up to Pakistan / India / Hindusthan... a possibility is thus that the Eden garden was located in Eastern Turkey, in the regions of, e.g., Agri, Erzurum or Elazig, being initially one of these possible locations the source of the 4 rivers... with time, the rivers have different but near sources... thus, the Pishon, could be the present day Aras river, running to east... the Gihon could be one of 2 the present sources for the Euphrates, the Karasu: through volcanoes interference, it wouldn't flow anymore through the Sinai and Egypt to Sudan/Ethiopia, but rather to the Euphrates...
